Are we crazy?

Am I the only one to think how crazy it is that there are still people in this world dying from starvation yet in the more advanced western world people are dying from obesity!?

And obesity is still increasing...

Studies show that the NHS spends £5bn a year on diseases such as strokes and diabetes that are linked to obesity. Within a few decades, that is predicted to climb to £15bn. Type 2 diabetes is a huge problem: 10% of the NHS budget already goes on that alone. Being overweight is the chief cause and the numbers are soaring, from 1.4 million in 1996 to more than three million today, with a predicted to rise to five million by 2025.

Some people may think we are either very stupid or very greedy. Personally I think it is down the being naive and this doesn't go just for severely obese people but to people with poor diets.

With diabetes soaring and putting the NHS under a lot of pressure and still we treat out bodies like a rubbish bin eating and drinking processed crap.

Why?

Because most of what the population see as a healthy diet is usually still heavily processed. The main stream media and marketing have a big part to play in this problem. They tell us that cereal bars are healthy, yogurts and tinned soups that are full of salt and sugar are healthy too. What a joke!

No wonder why obesity, heart disease, strokes, diabetes are all on the rise!

On the other hand you have people who do know the difference between a good and a bad diet but say things like....

My personal favourite is " well life is too short to be boring so I am just going to eat what I want "

What!?

Firstly, yes your life will be short and secondly eating a healthy balance and looking after yourself is not boring it is how we are supposed to be eating in the first place... REAL FOOD!

Anyways, sorry for the rant but sometimes you need to speak some truth!

If you have any questions regarding your diet or simply want help with your training please feel free to send me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can :)
